Specialist offshore insolvency and restructuring firm, Kalo, has announced the appointment of Emma Clifton as a manager in the firm’s BVI office.

Emma joins Kalo following 10 years working in the Cayman Islands and the UK. She specialises in contentious liquidations, but is also experienced in restructuring, receivership, risk management and advisory work.

Emma previously worked for the Kalo team in the Cayman Islands between January 2013 and January 2017 – where she had an active caseload advising on complex cases in the offshore sphere, including the long-running Primeo Fund liquidation.

Paul Pretlove, managing director of Kalo in the BVI, commented: “Emma has broad experience and technical expertise in all aspects of insolvency and restructuring. She also has many years of experience in the offshore sector, having worked in the Cayman Islands previously. We are delighted to welcome Emma to our team and very much look forward to introducing her to clients.”

Emma added: “Having previously worked with the team in Cayman, I am very much looking forward to getting to know my BVI colleagues. Kalo offers a first-class working environment and the opportunity to work with a very well-respected senior team on high-quality cases. I am looking forward to working with Paul, Anna and the rest of the team here, to build on our success.”
