Kalo Promotes To Senior Manager in Cayman Islands

Insolvency and restructuring firm, Kalo, has announced the promotion of Cassandra Ronaldson to Senior Manager in the firm’s Cayman Islands office.

Cassandra has been working for Kalo for the past four years and was previously employed by a leading accountancy firm in Australia. She is a qualified Chartered Accountant and is highly experienced in cross border insolvency, independent business reviews, forensic investigations and matters involving litigation.

During her career, Cassandra has worked with stakeholders of distressed entities across a wide range of industries, including investment funds, insurance, financial services, oil & gas and mining.

Cassandra is a key member of the team supporting Kalo’s CEO, Gordon MacRae, in his appointment as joint official liquidator of the Primeo Fund and was present at the Privy Council hearing at the end of 2019. She also works on other significant matters; including finalising a multi-jurisdictional restructuring of a high-profile company with interests in Asia, Europe and the US.

Liz Mackay, managing director with Kalo in the Cayman Islands, commented: “Cassie has been a key member of the Cayman team for some time and we are delighted to recognise her contribution to our business with this promotion. Cassie is hard-working, commercially astute and extremely well-liked by clients. She is an absolute pleasure to have on the team, and she certainly plays her part in making Kalo a great place to work.”

Cassandra Ronaldson added: "I am really fortunate to have worked with, and been mentored by, the experienced senior team at Kalo. During my time at Kalo I have been afforded the opportunity to be involved in high profile cases that have impacted the insolvency and restructuring industry in the Cayman Islands. In the next phase of my career, I hope to become more involved in the promotion of, not only Kalo, but the Cayman Islands as a preeminent offshore restructuring jurisdiction."

Kalo is a specialist insolvency and restructuring practice with offices in the British Virgin Islands and the Cayman Islands. The firm employs 22 professional staff and has six director-level appointment-holders. Kalo’s experienced team has been involved in many of the most high-profile offshore insolvency and restructuring matters over the last 10 years.
