Kalo Adds Director in BVI Office
Independent insolvency and restructuring firm, Kalo, has announced the appointment of James Drury as a Director and appointment-taker in the firm’s BVI office.
James joins Kalo from a ‘Big 4’ accountancy firm with 15 years’ insolvency experience. He has been in the BVI since 2015, and in that time has managed a number of high-profile, multi-jurisdictional engagements; including insolvency, restructuring, forensic and advisory focused engagements across multiple industry sectors. Prior to this, James was located in the Cayman Islands for three years where he worked at other international insolvency practices.
James commented on his appointment: “Kalo is a firm built on strong values and has gone from strength to strength in recent years. We have the biggest team in the BVI and continue to grow with an influx of new engagements. Once the opportunity presented itself, there were a number of factors that made joining Kalo attractive. Namely, Kalo’s independent offering, the opportunity to join a busy team, lead big-ticket matters and continue to learn and develop.
“I am relishing the opportunity to take appointments. I am confident that working alongside a respected senior team in Paul (Pretlove), Charlotte (Caulfield) and Toni (Shukla) on some of the highest-profile and ground-breaking cases in the Territory will enable us to build on the foundations of Kalo’s considerable success. It will further cement the team as the go-to insolvency and restructuring specialists in the BVI.”
Paul Pretlove, Managing Director of Kalo in the BVI added: “Having James join the team as an appointment taking Director, so soon after Charlotte Caulfield’s appointment, is testament to the strength and growth of the business and our firm commitment to growth in the Territory. We are delighted to welcome James, who has exceptional credentials, having worked for top insolvency firms in the UK, the Cayman Islands and the BVI, and excellent cross-jurisdictional experience at a senior level - he will add strength and depth to our senior team and further establish us as the market leader.”
James holds the Joint Insolvency Examination Board (JIEB) qualification and is a member of the Insolvency Practitioners Association (UK), R3 -The Association of Business Recovery Professionals (UK) and an active member of the Restructuring and Insolvency Specialists Association (RISA) (BVI) where he has led the Social and Events Committee.
